Hello Kentlake Students and Parents!  My name is Tim Van Schenck and I am very excited and happy to be teaching at Kentlake!  This classroom website is available for you to get information about the courses I am teaching this year.  You can find documents and presentations for our class on the Documents page.  You can find school calendar information on the Calendar page.  As the year progresses, I will also add interesting and helpful links for your reference on the Links page.  You can send me an email using the Contact Me page.  Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to see additional information on this website.

Let me introduce myself and my family.   I have been married to Katie for 28 years, and I have two great boys and a daughter!  Jacob and Lindy (on the left) work with Youth With A Mission in Salem, Oregon. Jonathan (in the center) completed his mathematics and physics degrees at Seattle Pacific University in June, and is starting his doctoral program in physics at Oregon State University in September.  His lovely wife Caylee is pictured with him.  Before becoming a teacher I worked at Boeing in Kent, Washington, where I enjoyed a 24-1/2 year career as a software engineer.  I decided to change careers to become a mathematics teacher, and attended Seattle Pacific University to obtain my teaching credential and my Masters in Teaching Math and Science.  This will be my fourth year at Kentlake High School teaching mathematics.  I also advise the Kentlake Interact Club, which partners with the Covington Rotary Club to complete a variety of local and international service projects.
