Electronic communication is only effective if it is clear. I will not decipher slang and abbreviations commonly used in texting when reading (ur) emails.  An email is a more formal type of communication and it is essential to practice communicating in a professional manner. Emails must include the following components:

  • An appropriate subject line
  • A clear greeting or salutation
    • For example: Dear Mrs. Dragavon,
  • A message that is formal in tone and makes every attempt to use proper spelling, grammar, capitalization, and punctuation
  • A clear closing
    • For example: Sincerely, [your name]
